Terms and Conditions of Sale

These Terms and Conditions of Sale are made by and between Steven’s Art and Antiques (“SAA” “us”) and Bidder (“Buyer,” “Purchaser,” “Agent”). The Terms and Conditions of Sale and all contents of the catalog are subject to amendment by SAA. The Bidder must acknowledge and agree to follow these Terms and Conditions before participating in any sales.


Bidder Registration Bidder Registration is required for all persons that wish to bid for SAA’s auction property. All bidders must complete filling in the Bidder’s Form, which can be downloaded from SAA’s website. (www.stevensaa.com/biddersform) 

Absentee Bids Absentee Bid Form can be downloaded on our website. In the event of identical bids, the earliest will take precedence. Absentee bids shall be executed in competition with other absentee bids, live audience bids and live online bids. The flat rate of buyer’s premium for absentee bids is 22%, with taxes, shipping & handling fee if applicable.

Property Condition Flawless condition of lots are not guaranteed. SAA is not responsible for the accuracy of any information provided in the catalog, invoice or any bill of sale. For any condition reports of any lots, please email info@stevensaa.com.

Buyer’s Premium a buyer’s premium will be added to the final bid price. Buyer agrees to pay 20% of the hammer price in addition to the bid price.

Online Bidding Buyer agrees to pay an additional 3% for any lots won online.

Shipping & Handling All auction property is shipped at the Bidder’s expense. Buyer agrees to pay $_________ to cover shipping & handling. Fees may vary and be further discussed with SAA staff members. A 10-day free pick up is offered, courtesy to all SAA clients. After 10 days, SAA will charge $5.00 per lot, per day, unless the Buyer and SAA have prior arrangements.

Sales Tax Buyer agrees to pay any sales tax (if applicable) for all of the lots won by him/her.

Payment SAA accepts Visa, MasterCard, Discover, American Express, Cash and Checks. Checks should be made to payable to Steven’s Art & Antiques, 140 S. Rosemead Blvd., Pasadena, CA 91107. All invoices must be paid in full within 10 calendar days after the close of the auction. Buyer authorizes SAA to charge his/her credit card at registration for all items purchased at this auction.

Sales Arrangement 

SAA reserves the right to decline any bid. Bids must be for an entire lot. Each lot constitutes a separate sale. An estimate price range will be given to our clients for reference. These estimates are only for educational purposes. Bidding normally begins at about one half of the low estimate.


On the fall of the Auctioneer’s hammer, or upon the statement of “sold,” the highest bidder or authorized agent shall be deemed to have purchased the offered lot, in accordance with all of the conditions set forth herein and will pay the purchase price in full plus buyer’s premium, any applicable taxes, shipping & handling fees (if applicable). If the foregoing conditions or any other applicable conditions herein are not complied with, in addition to other remedies available to us and the Consignor by law, including but without limitation to the right to hold the Purchaser liable for the purchase price, we, at our option, may either:

         i.            Cancel the sale

       ii.            Resell the property and notify the Purchaser within 3 days

Preview Safety

When our clients come to the preview, we care deeply about your safety. We try our best to display every lot in the safest way possible, yet you must be fully responsible for your own safety when you view the displayed items in person. Marketing & Advertising

SAA is proud to provide free marketing and advertising service to our clients in terms of web content, display ads, catalogs, etc. However, SAA is not responsible for any error of the description, estimates, etc. Everything we write for the purpose of marketing and advertising is only for reference.
